Strandfontein Diabetes Support Group [sweet communicare}

Strandfontein diabetic support group was established 25th March 2010, facilitated by retired professional nurse Veronica Vember. Its the only and first diabetic club in strandfontein. At the club we have 20 volunteers who assist in rendering this most valid free service without any financial aid from any source since 2010. The team planted two more clubs, one in bayview an another in pelican park. They go out weekly to do free blood pressure, blood glucose, cholesterol, height, weight, renal function test in the community. We have our annual agm, three monthly volunteers meeting as well as executive meeting every third month. Our attendees varies between 150-300 monthly. Our motto is to serve and be sweet beings-sensitive to all, warn people about diabetes, educate, empower and to train others.
