From designer to builder to owner to developer, we do what it takes and care how it's done. "Outside our scope" is not in our vocabulary. Our work is diverse and recognized worldwide through national and international design awards and publications. Our range of projects-from private dwellings, retail, office, community centers to hotels & resorts, tall buildings, recreation centers, and historic restorations-are all unique because each project is specific. Malherbe Rust Architects started as a small practice in Perl, South Africa in March 1989. We have grown to a medium sized group of skilled professionals over our 30 years of experience. The core value of our practice is to do contextual architecture. The forms and icons are not borrowed from history books. The manner in which new authentic forms are introduced - their scale and presentation - determines the architecture that both 'stands out' and 'stands in'. Together with an appreciation of the cultural resources of the community, humility and discipline, we design our buildings which the community applauds: An Award of Merit and of Excellence was conferred for our design quality in 2014 by the South African Institute of Architects.
