Premier produces over 500 million loaves of bread per annum from our 16 bakeries situated in 9 provinces as well as Lesotho, Swaziland and Mozambique making Premier the single biggest supplier of bread in South Africa. Our brands include Blue Ribbon, BB Bread, Mr Bread, Star, S. U. B (Swaziland) and Just Baked. We have 10 distribution depots and an intricate distribution network enabling us to deliver to 36 000 customers for free every day of the year, excluding the non-trading public holidays. Our customers include the formal retail chains, the general and informal trade as well as the food service sector.

In May 2013, Premier acquired the Manhattan and Super C brands which included the Johannesburg manufacturing facility. The Johannesburg facility has the capability of producing marshmallows, gums, jellies and compressed sweets in a wide range of pack formats. In addition, the plant has a blending and packing facility for fine powders such as baking powder, icing sugar and castor sugar. The modern facilities are FSC 22000 certified and have an on-site raw material and finished goods warehouse.

Premier has a rich history in Milling right from the very beginning with the first flour mill being built in Port Elizabeth more than 130 years ago. Today, Premier has 5 wheat mills and 2 maize mills strategically located in South Africa and Swaziland to ensure optimal supply with a total capacity of 800 000 tons of wheat and 600 000 tons of maize per annum. Two of our wheat mills are designed to mill flour for speciality industrial customers. Our Kroonstad maize mill is the biggest maize mill for human consumption, housed under one roof, in the world. The South African-based mills are FSSC 22000 certified. Our bakeries are the biggest customer for our wheat mills and our flour brands include the iconic Snowflake brand which is more than 130 years old as well as Blue Ribbon flour. Our maize brands include: IWISA, Nyala, Invicta, Impala and Super Sun. The milling operations also comprise of 14 warehouses strategically located around the country to optimise product availability...
