Our facility focus's on the care for residents with a wide range of conditions related to general frailty as well as residents that may require special focus and care relating to more severe and long term challenges. Mattanja is an intimate and homely home-away-from-home where we encourage our residents to interact and participate in various stimulating activities. At Mattanja we believe that caregiving is a labour of love which requires special people and just the right touch. For us it is a calling and a lifestyle. We fully understand that caring for a relative can be a very stressful experience. When the time comes, our highly trained passionate and professional medical personnel and caregivers are ready to take over this major responsibility; giving not only physical, but also emotional support.

Western Cape older persons forum. (Embracing the voice of the elderly) the Wcopf was established in 2007 to be the voice of the older person. The vision of the Wcopf is to ensure that: 1. The contribution of older persons is recognized. 2. Older persons can experience safety and security. 3. The rights and dignity of older persons are respected. 4. Older persons have a role to play in development. The mission of the Wcopf is to identify and articulate the needs of the older person as voiced by them, and in consultation with government and other role-players, ensure that those needs are met.
