Vanilla Man is owned and managed by Werner (Van) van der Walt. Van's 17 years experience as a chef played a great part in his interest in this unique product: The Queen of Spices! Vanilla Man was started after a visit to Madagascar in 2002. At that time vanilla retailed for R5000 a kg and was very hard to find in South Africa. Since then, awareness and availability has grown and "Vanilla Man, Pure Vanilla" is now a must-have in every kitchen! We are proud to say that Vanilla Man has been instrumental in supplying a more affordable product. Since our first visit to Madagascar we have travelled to many destinations in search of vanilla, exploring different areas of cultivation. Vanilla Man imports premium grade Bourbon vanilla beans from Madagascar and Uganda.
