Sam Foundation
Johannesburg, South Africa
School Safety and Community Safety Organisation originated in Mamelodi East, Pretoria
Based on the outskirts of Johannesburg, we are a veterinary hospital and wildlife rehabilitation centre solely dedicated to the treatment of wildlife. Our focus is to improve the quality of treatment, survival rate and the successful rehabilitation of small to medium sized species indigenous to South Africa. Our facility pioneers the combination of veterinary treatment and rehabilitation and is the first hospital in South Africa to do so. We treat wildlife with the final goal being full rehabilitation and successful release back into suitable habitat. The wildlife we treat is not owned and comes to us as a result of human / wildlife conflict, disaster, poisonings, illegal trade and poaching confiscations. Some species we treat include raptors, serval, caracal, antelope and honey badgers, to name but a few. All treatment of wildlife is free of charge and, as such, we rely solely on the support of our community and corporate sponsors to fund our hospital.
