Helderberg Farm is a family friendly farm, located just outside of Somerset West. We are open daily from 08: 00 to 17: 00 (Closed on Good Friday & Christmas Day) . We offer a variety of activities such as Hiking Trail, Mountain Biking Trail, 4x4 & Viewpoint Trail, Picnic & Braai Spots, Private Venues for Birthdays / Year End Functions / Family Reunions / Baby Showers / Kitchen Tea's, Wedding Venues, Strawberry Picking (seasonal), Strawberry Plants for Sale, Accommodation in the old Dam Hut, Tea Garden for Coffee & variety of Cakes, Play-Park for toddlers, Animal Farmyard for kids to feed the animals, Nursery, Laser-Tag & Paintball. All permits can be purchased at the Tea Garden between 08: 00 and 17: 00. No permit, no access. Bookings for Picnic Spots / Braai Spots / Private Venues can be made via email: helderbergples@mweb. co. za. Come and enjoy a lovely day out with family & friends.

Half-Collared Kingfisher Trail

The Half-collared crosses the Touw River by means of a pontoon to join the Giant Kingfisher trail. Trees are appropriately numbered to facilitate tree spotters in finding their favourite trees. Mostly shaded by ancient giant trees, walkers can relax as they walk comfortably on the trail to its heart boasting a magnificent waterfall where, again, picnics may be had. Many birds especially the well-known Half-collared and Giant Kingfisher, Knysna Turaco, Fish Eagle and Black-headed Oriole may be seen.
