CWSA (Child Welfare South Africa) is an umbrella body representing 164 child welfare affiliates, 30 developing organisations, 25 outreach projects and 206 communities. Collectively we reach about 2 million children, their families and caregivers. Consisting of 1200 staff members and 3500 volunteers. Our Objectives: Protecting the children in our country from all kinds of abuse. Making a difference in the lives of children. Establishing networks and partnerships to ensure the safeguarding of our children. Being a credible, professional body for child protection. Providing support and guidance to our Member Organisations.

The Topsy Foundation was established in 2000 with seed funding from the Rufford Foundation and pro bono administrative support from Ogilvy. The Foundation is a fully registered and internationally respected non-profit company and public benefit organisation. Topsy opened its doors in 2001, providing care to communities in some of the most underserviced rural areas of Mpumalanga and is the only NGO in the region. In the past 18 years, Topsy has made a significant impact on these communities, addressing HIV / Aids and extreme poverty through an effective, multi-faceted approach. Topsy's current mission is to provide communities with the support and tools needed to raise happy, healthy and capable children. Jo'burg Child Welfare (JCW) is driven by the belief that every human being deserves a childhood free from abuse and neglect. For over 100 years JCW has assisted children who have been abused, abandoned, neglected, consented for adoption, orphaned or made vulnerable (including the many who are infected with or have been affected by HIV and AIDS) . Our team of dedicated and highly qualified professionals work tirelessly to extend vital care and support to underprivileged children, families and communities in Johannesburg. JCW believes that if our children suffer, our community and society suffers too and we therefore seek to build a society where children are cared for and parents and caregivers are supported, creating an atmosphere where our children can grow up strong, safe and happy.

Our mission is to care for and protect orphaned and vulnerable children by providing professional services, guided by the underlying principle that the child's best interests be served. Our goals are to: Provide early intervention services to both parents and vulnerable children, to empower mothers to care for their children within their families and communities and find families for children who can not be cared for in their family of origin.

Childline Gauteng Province (CL GP) initiated under the umbrella of the SA Society for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect. Childline Gauteng was subsequently taken over by the Johannesburg Children's Home as a project comprising 2 telephone lines and 2 volunteers answering calls for help. Childline Gauteng has grown considerably since then and now operates from seven (7) Community-Based Centres (CBC's) within the province (Inner City, Soweto, Diepsloot, Tembisa, Katlehong, Orange Farm and Sebokeng) . Childline understands that genuine caring for those who have suffered is the key ingredient in the healing process, our workforce of 48 torch-bearers devotes their attention to protecting the most vulnerable children in our society through a wide variety of services and programmes.
