RECREATE architecture + design cc was formed in 2003 by Christien J Oosthuizen (Pr. Arch 7160), as a multi-disciplined architecture and design studio operating throughout Southern Africa after finishing his master degree in architecture with the development process of game lodges as the topic of research, . Sheldon Archibald joined the practice in 2009 bringing with him a wealth of knowledge and expertise in the residential and commercial markets. The philosophy behind our work is to incorporate and respect the diverse aspirations and heritages of our clients, to learn from advanced technologies and to create a vernacular architecture with simple materials, structural innovation in climate and space, the pursuit of modern contemporary design that sits in balance with its environment and makes statements through simple means.
