Lifeline Durban aims to reduce personal stress and emotional pain through readily available counselling and growth programmes. We provide a professional and confidential service offered by well trained, disciplined lay counsellors, facilitators, trainers and social workers. Counselling normally deals with emotional crisis, trauma, abuse, violence, relationships, youth related issues, loneliness, illness and feelings of hurt, anger, frustration, rejection, disappointment and intentions of suicide. LifeLine Ekurhuleni is a registered Non-Profit and Public Benefit Organisation established in 1970 with a focus on providing free counselling services and Enhancing the emotional well-being of the broader Ekurhuleni community. LifeLine Ekurhuleni provides a 24hour telephonic counselling service which is extended to include face to face counselling by lay counsellors at Benoni and Tsakane. LifeLine Ekurhuleni has trained volunteers on a 24 hour basis to provide crises support to victims reporting assaults to the police in the Duduza police station...

LifeLine was established in 1970. For example; family problems, trauma, depression, loneliness, pregnancy, HIV infection / affection, bereavement, sexual and gender violence, substance abuse, or any other situation where a person is struggling to cope with life, in general.

We have 3 centres situated in Alexandra, Norwood and Soweto respectively. At these centres, we offer both telephone counselling as well as face-to-face counselling with specialist areas being rape, trauma and couples counselling. During our previous financial year, we attended to 15 204 clients across the three centres. We further have teams of peer educators going door-to-door in Alexandra and Soweto engaging with community members on emotional wellness, offering support and appropriate referrals to individuals in need. For the twelve month period, our peer educators reached 30 411 community members. Both counselling and peer education are funded by the Anglo American Chairman's Fund.

LifeLine Mafikeng has two mobile units that visit farms, informal settlements, villages and companies in the Nagka Modiri Molema and Dr Ruth S Mompati districts offering HCT and referrals to local health facilities if the need arises. This project works closely with the Department of Health who provide our mobiles with test kits and non medical supplies..

LifeLine PMB covers five Municipal Districts viz uMgungundlovu, uThukela, Sisonke, Amajuba and uMzinyathi in KZN. The centre offers both proactive and reactive services to individuals, groups and communities. In terms of the reactive program (Counselling services) we offer a 24 hour telephone crisis line, Face to Face counselling via appointment, Online counselling that can be accessed via our website www. lifeonline. co. za. All our counsellors are trained volunteers who donate their time as a service to the community. Counsellors are trained to empower callers / clients to cope better with their lives.
