The Chemical and Allied Industries’ Association (CAIA) was established in 1994 to promote a wide range of interests pertaining to the chemical industry. CAIA's primary goals are: to represent and advocate on behalf of the chemical industry; to promote Responsible Care and monitor its implementation; to earn public trust for the chemical industry; to support education initiatives in science, engineering and technology; to create maximum value for its members companies. Membership is open to chemical manufacturers and traders as well as to organisations which provide a service to the chemical industry, such as hauliers, spill response and testing laboratories. CAIA is the South African custodian of the international Responsible Care initiative, which has been adopted by 53 countries worldwide. 141 members are now signatories to Responsible Care in South Africa.

The Chamber exists as the Principal advocate of major policy positions endorsed by the mining employers and represents these to various organs of South African national and provincial governments and to other relevant policy-making and opinion-forming entities

NRCS is a public entity responsible to the Minister of Trade and Industries for administration of technical regulations including COMPULSORY SPECIFICATIONS based on STANDARDS that protect human health and safety, and the environment.

BWA is a non-profit and trade association representing all aspects of the groundwater industry. Included in our membership are central and local government departments, leading private enterprises that manufacture drilling, pumping, electronic and ancillary equipment, professional consultants, contractors and interested individuals.

The Proudly South African "buy local" campaign encourages the nation to buy local products and make use of local services, in an effort to stimulate the local economy and help create jobs. Proudly SA also promotes national pride, patriotism and social cohesion. When consumers buy locally produced products and support local service providers, the local economy is stimulated and sustainable job opportunities are created. By supporting local producers and manufacturers (by buying goods which carry the Proudly South African logo or a 'Made in South Africa' label) each and every South African can contribute towards creating a bigger demand for home grown products and services; stimulating South Africa's economic growth; helping to prevent job losses and helping to create job opportunities.

Employers engaged in the construction engineering industry, operating in the structural, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, piping and project management fields. In addition to its own activities, the CEA has two active divisions: the Labour Broking Division and the Temporary Employment Services Division. The association has close ties to the SA Institute of Steel Construction and the SA Institute of Welding.
