Sasol Gas buys and markets more than 150 million gigajoule a year of natural gas, produced in Mozambique, and methane-rich gas produced at our complex in Secunda, South Africa. This is distributed to some 550 industrial and commercial customers in South Africa. Since 1999 Sasol has invested more than R12 billion in developing the gas fields of Mozambique and transporting the gas to South Africa. Pipeline gas is a convenient, reliable and environmentally-friendly energy source and chemical feedstock that is cost-effective and ideally suited to a wide range of applications. Through Sasol Gas, various users have been converted from other energy fuels to cleaner-burning gas. This has been made possible through strong partnerships, in particular with the government of Mozambique.
